February 2022

There is plenty going on in the February edition of The Hedge, where we take a look at the past month’s hedge fund performance, which was particularly brutal for many equity managers, while macro performed against the tide.

Private equity has been scoring well in these markets, with a number of new fund raises already planned and plenty of dry powder.

Among various other stories, we look at Brevan joining the longer lockup club, Andurand’s winning ways and Chanos shorting Beyond Meat… while crypto struggles, Zug booms…. in the world of ESG, there is a problem over labelling… and we delve a little deeper into TCI, the manager that wrote the activist playbook.

As always, we round-off with some of the latest goings-on in the regulatory space from RQC’s Matt Raver.
