September 2022

After a summer off, The Hedge is back. In this edition, we look at the August numbers, with macro managers once more back on top, and some of the stories that have crossed our desk over the past month. This includes CalPERS and NBIM numbers, flush SWFs, Man Group results, Bridgewater shorts, just a few of the goings on at Brevan, activism, plus much more in the hedge and private equity space. We also take a look at crypto activities and important regulatory updates in both the UK and the US from Matt Raver and team at RQC Group.

We hear from Simmons & Simmons’ Sarah Crabb on the growing institutionalisation of digital asset funds and REKT Partners’ George Godsal on the need for regulation in the crypto space and the importance of not writing-off this asset class; while I offer a few words on global macro as a strategy.

We are delighted to be joined by the Money Maze Podcast, which has had the most amazing line-up of guests talking to Simon Brewer, from KKR to Bridgewater and TCI. Perhaps this is a sign that The Hedge as a publication is growing up.
